When I watch my son look at a picture of himself, I can’t help but notice the look on his face. He’s proud that we cared enough to display him in our home. He feels secure and like an important part of the family and he’s quick to point it out to friends and family.
A nice portrait of your child displayed in your home helps gives your child a better sense of belonging and raises his or her self-esteem. Updating the portraits with important milestone events shows how much you love and cherish your child’s presence in the family. It reinforces what your child is good at, what they enjoy doing and what makes them happy. Really, there is no wrong time to have your child’s portrait taken.
Family portraits add meaning, belonging and install healthy self-esteem principles. As a parent, these photographs will serve as lifelong memories of your child who, inevitably, will grow up way too fast. They’ll be handed down to your childs children and enjoyed for generations. Photographs will cement ideas in their mind that they are good, capable, loveable and worthwhile. They are an easy way to show your kids that you care and that you are proud of them.
